Project Officer, Baltimore Roundtable for Economic Democracy
Emily Lerman represents the Baltimore Roundtable on Economic Democracy (BRED) in Seed Common’s Full Member Assembly and on the Board and has served in those roles since May 2021. She served on the Sustainability Committee from 2021 until 2023. Emily joined BRED in June 2019 as a Project Officer. Since 2017, Emily has been a co-founder and worker- owner at Mera Kitchen Collective, a cooperative built for and by refugees and immigrants in Baltimore. Previously, from 2015 to 2017, Emily was a Faculty Research Associate in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Before moving to Baltimore, Emily spent seven years with Doctors Without Borders. Emily holds a Master of Public Health from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master of Business/Accounting from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business. Emily is also a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in California.
