In 2022, Seed Commons made an initial non-extractive loan in 2022 through our member organization LA Co-op Lab to help Thrive Santa Ana get the ball rolling on construction on the first parcel acquired for the new community land trust. With momentum on the site underway, this loan allowed more funding from the state to be unlocked—and today the site has opened, supporting an initial cohort of cooperative and community businesses.
