Seed Commons' peer Cooperation New Orleans was featured in an article in the Daily Advertiser, focusing on their conversion of Pagoda Cafe to a worker cooperative:

When owner Shana Mae Sassoon, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, announced she wanted to sell the business, Duncan said he started crying. A few weeks later, Sassoon had an offer for Duncan. She would sell it to him and his fellow workers, and they could run Pagoda Café on their own as a co-op.
“We always wanted to create a workplace that fought against the worst trends in the restaurant industry,” Sassoon said. “I think this is the biggest way of shaking it up: changing who is the management class and the ownership class.”
