The Position:
The Bookkeeper/ Staff Accountant works directly with the Associate Director of Finance and is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable and loan transactions.
Essential Duties:
Bookkeeping
- Enter loan transactions in Quickbooks and Madeline (proprietary loan management software)
- Enter all operating transactions
- Payroll accounting (enter invoices, do journal entries)
- Enter investment and grant pledges
- Enter budgets into Quickbooks
Other Accounting
- Assist with audit & 990 requests, annually
- Assist with cash flow management
- Create and distribute loan statements
Quarterly Close
- Reconcile loans receivable
- Reconcile other balance sheet accounts, as needed
- Assist with ensuring financial records are correct
Loan Administration
- Complete loan closure transactions and documentation
- Complete loan renewals & refinancing transactions and documentation
Skills/Experience
- Minimum of a BA or BBA, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- At least three years of overall professional experience
- Strong knowledge of Quickbooks Online
- Knowledge of GAAP a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, rapidly growing organization
- Strong in prioritization and time management
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
